Alanis Morissette is a Canadian was born on June 1 1974 in Ottawa. Alanis' Greek is a male version of the surname Alan's father had. The name of her mother is Georgia and there are two brothers named Chad as well as Wade (Alanis"Twin"). She learned to play piano when she was just six and began playing guitar at age 21.
